Rain, Rain, don't go away

Hmm been away awhile. Too much real life going at the moment, all good, just stupidly busy.
The plan was to seamlessly integrate the blog into real life, & keep at least my self posted... ha ha ha.

SO here we are again. Wish me luck. Week off work. Slow down? Just try it.

We're having a wet winter! After 5 years of drought, we have permission to comment on precipitation. Green is really easy on the eye. Funny, I like Oz's tough vegetation & harsh climate, but green is still easy to look at. Fertile, secure. The vision of Russian tanks rolling across green countryside in Georgia makes it especially hard. And as for the weather in Beijing... send us some, we won't complain! (You can keep the tanks, but.)

500 years of beautiful women

I'm going to set up a pay site devoted to work evasion, I'm that good at it.
But this one is good. thank you to Larissa Meek for finding it, & for writing such a good article on web design style.
The video is a rhapsody to beauty. Whatever your politics (& think of myself as pretty EO), there is nothing like seeing a beautiful image of grace, & here's 500 years worth in 3 minutes.

I'm intrigued by how much emotion is shown on an apparently "still" face.

I remember the author guy now - it's Bill Bryson. He's gonna wonder how he got under a heading like that.

I'll never forget whatsisname...

It's happened, again. Someone's name has completely escaped me. I'm happily filling in the extensive profile form nice Mr Blogger's given me, so you will know exactly what sort of person I am (if you work it out, you'll let me know won't you). Favourite books... that's easy, anything by... oh that American guy, lived in England, travel writer, pissingly funny... This name amnesia just stops me in my tracks sometimes. It happens when I meet people; it occasionally happens in the middle of a conversation with them. Is there a cure for it, or is it going to get worse?

It still hasn't come to me dammit.
